Tulum

The recently inaugurated Tulum Airport represents a new gateway to the hidden treasures of Tulum, Quintana Roo. Nestled in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean, Tulum has evolved into a thriving haven of 33,000 inhabitants, captivating travelers with its almost pristine beaches, cenotes, jungle, and the remnants of an ancient Mayan city perched on a cliff.

What You Need to Know About Tulum Airport

Tulum Airport, with an estimated annual traffic of 5.5 million passengers and 32,000 operations, aims to become the second point of entry to the southeast region, closely following Cancun International Airport. With a main runway of 3,700 meters, 13 positions for commercial flights, a hangar, and a wastewater treatment plant, this complex integrates a military base and a waste management facility.

Located just 76 kilometers from Playa del Carmen, the new Tulum Airport offers easy access to the charming town of Valladolid and the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá in Yucatán, positioning it as the ideal gateway to the less-explored southern Riviera Maya, where coastal villages and the northern boundary of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve replace the developments in the north.
